Communications Officer – European Centre for International Political Economy (ECIPE)

The European Centre for International Political Economy (ECIPE) is now looking to fill in a Communications Officer position starting in October 2020. 

ECIPE is an independent and non-profit policy research think-tank based in Brussels. Our work is focused on international trade, regulation, digitalisation, and other global economic policy issues of importance to Europe. We are a research-based organisation with the ambition of providing decision-makers with sound economic and political analysis.

We are currently looking for a dynamic young professional with experience in communications, and passionate about trade & digital policy to help us:

  • Monitor media and EU related communications
  • Create and edit content for the website and newsletter
  • Manage social networks
  • Provide technical assistance with the editorial of our publications, podcasts and videos
  • Coordinate events management
  • Assist with general administration and office management

Profile & Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in a communications/marketing role, specifically content creation, and in managing social media.
  • Master’s degree in communications, marketing, PR or other relevant fields.
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills in English. Additional language skills are valued.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite, Google Analytics and similar.
  • Good knowledge of social media, i.e. Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube.
  • Previous experience and a keen interest in video, sound and image editing.
  • Experience with WordPress, Mailchimp, and Zoom Webinar is desirable.
  • Some knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (notably, InDesign and/or PhotoShop) and/or Canva, is an advantage.
  • Experience with event organisation.
  • Strong time-management skills, ability to work independently, take responsibility, show flexibility.
  • Knowledge of ECIPE areas of expertise, namely trade policy, digital economy, international political economy is an asset.
