Communications Manager for EU projects – DIGITALEUROPE

DIGITALEUROPE is looking for a Communications Manager to support on our work on EU-funded projects in the field of digital skills, diversity and inclusion.

Job description

The communications manager will help implementing communications plans as defined in various projects, primarily in the field of digital skills and diversity.

The role also covers community management where experience in creating, expanding, engaging and managing an international stakeholder community will be an asset.

The main responsibility is for daily management of communication and stakeholder outreach tasks in existing projects in a timely manner and to high quality standards.

The communications manager will work in close cooperation with the communications and project managers and report to the director of projects.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Execution and reporting of agreed communications tasks in projects to the highest standard
  • Content creation for online and offline communications, both written and visual
  • Social media management
  • Website content creation and management
  • Online community development and engagement
  • Working closely with project team members but also across other teams in policy
  • Outreach to policy makers and stakeholders on the subject of e-skills/diversity where requested
  • Monitoring results and impact evaluation

Required competencies and skills

  • Self-driven and organised
  • Ability to work cooperatively with multiple stakeholders from across Europe
  • Strong design skills (Adobe Creative Cloud experience is a plus)
  • Ability to positively influence others to achieve results in line with project plans
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills – English native speaker level
  • Ability to set priorities, develop work schedules, monitor progress towards goals and track actions
  • Completing tasks on time and within budget, both from a content and administrative perspective

Other desired experience/skills

  • Be familiar with communications guidelines for EU funded projects
  • Experience in communication in technology / ICT field
  • Experience and skills in website creation is an asset

Profile

  • Typically 2-4 years’ experience in communication with special focus on content creation, visual design and website management.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to various stakeholders in the digital industry and experience in communications/stakeholder management in EU projects (grants, service contracts, FP7, etc.) is desired.
