The Communication Strategy Unit of the Greens/EFA group seeks a creative audio-visual expert to join its’ team in Brussels. The role will involve working closely with our audio-visual team, as well as Green/EFA MEPs, staff and assistants to develop regular video-material for sharing on our digital channels.
This role involves video and multimedia project creation, editing, and databasing of all audio-visual content, from conception to end-delivery. Creating audio-visual and multimedia content through editing software is required. Working with third parties to deliver audio-visual projects will be a regular feature of the work. The role will involve testing and analysing all our audio-visual products, researching how our content is perceived and digested, as well as developing strategies for audio-visual content that can engage audiences in a way that will make an impact. Such work will feed into the Group’s overall political and communication strategy.
Tasks to be performed:
- Regularly filming content related to the work of our MEPs and Group.
- Editing (video, audio etc) for all audio-visual (AV) projects, in cooperation with the AV unit.
- Organising the data-basing of our AV projects in a well managed way, both internally and on our website and online channels (for instance youtube).
- Providing technical support and advice for AV projects to the wider communications team, campaigners and outreach unit, MEP offices and Group staff.
- Ensuring that the Group’s visual identity is respected on all AV products created by the Group.
- Liaising with third party companies for the delivery of externalised audio-visual products.
- Developing visuals and video content for our social media communication together with the wider digital team.
- Analysing the impact of AV products with our audiences and working to improve our reach in coordination with the social media team.
- Assisting with advertising projects where AV material is required (audio, video, GIF-generation etc)
- Following trends and new technologies in the AV area to ensure we are at the cutting-edge when it comes to delivering our communications products.
- Implementation of video, audio and graphic content from implementation to publication (production and post-production of all content)
- Maintenance of technical equipment when required
- Content management for the website where AV products are concerned
Qualifications, experience and desired skills requested:
- Work experience of 2 years or more;
- Very good knowledge of English and of at least one other EU language
- Work experience in the field of video-making with professional camera and sound equipment
- Excellent editing skills for video and sound with the most current software
- Sound design and mixing skills
- Excellent use of Adobe Premiere Pro and good use of After Effect.
- Experience with short form and micro content, including an affinity for online content and modern storytelling
- Fast and precise working style and a high degree of flexibility
- Familiarity with the Green/EFA Group’s values, positions and public presentation
- Excellent analysis skills and a proven record of strategic planning and creative-development, including the design and implementation of multiple projects at once;
- Excellent communication skills, the ability to be self-motivated and a stress-resistant team player
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple requests and projects at the same time
- Very good writing skills and knowledge of organisational methodology
- Open-mindedness, communicative attitude and experience in working in a multi-cultural team;
- Ability to problem-solve, with an emphasis on creativity and brainstorming new ideas;
- Being a team-player and ready to work flexible hours, including work-related trave
Assets:
- Educational background in line with the function
- Other graphic and film-related software knowledge
- Knowledge of the European institutions, EU legislation and decision-making process
