TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES
- Providing the highest level of customer service, assisting them, and processing their orders.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current titles and changes in the market.
- Buying from catalogues and publishers’ representatives.
- Processing book deliveries and returns; managing the stock.
- Creating displays.
- Planning events, organizing talks and signing sessions.
- Finding new partnerships with schools, embassies and companies
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- English as mother tongue, good proficiency in French, both oral and written•
- Knowledge of a third language, e.g., German, Dutch, Spanish, or Portuguese, is an added advantage.
- Passion for English literature
- Understanding of the book market; previous experience as bookseller is a must.
- High organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines
- Creative, enthusiastic and able to multitask
- Solid general background knowledge; interest in politics and economics is an advantage.
- Reliable; can work on one’s own, yet a willing team player• Strong people skills and physical condition
- Basic IT skills
- Willingness to work shifts outside the standard workweek. Please note that Filigranes is open 365 days a year, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
