European Union Prize for Literature (EUPL) – Project Assistant

Location: Brussels

Type of contract: short term (CDD – 1 year, renewable) – to start early January at the latest

Passionate about culture, especially literature? Very good organisational skills with a strong appetence for digital communication and event management? Able to work independently ? If yes, you’re at the right place – the EU Prize for Literature (EUPL) is searching for a Project Assistant to work on the EUPL 2022 edition!

The EUPL is an annual initiative that awards emerging fiction writers in Europe, with the aim to promote the circulation of literature across borders, and to encourage greater interest in non-national literary works.

The Project Assistant will take part in all the activities of the EUPL and will be an essential support for the Consortium that runs the project.

Some of the key tasks include:

  • Overall support to the management and implementation of the project
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders/third parties and managing their involvement
  • Support event management
  • Support to the Prize communication strategy, dissemination and visibility, especially through social media and trade press
  • Administrative support

Your profile:

  • Experience working within the EU institutions, or relevant consultancies, trade associations or NGOs
  • Excellent command of written and oral English is a must, other languages are an asset, and in particular French
  • Strong experience in events organisation and able to work independently
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and within an international/multicultural environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong command of social media
  • Computer literate (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), experience in working with Canva and Drupal is an asset, as well as some knowledge of video/audio editing
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A real interest in culture/literature
